The Story Behind Caledonia Forest’s Mission

Caledonia Forest was founded with the singular focus of saving our forests and wildlife. In fighting to save our forests, we are able to save our wildlife, reduce water and air pollution, and help with climate management. One of the most devastating impacts we are making to the earth is the great speed of deforestation around the globe. Every second, a football sized field of forests is torn down. We are moving at such a rapid rate in destroying our forests that it is impossible for our planet to regenerate to keep up with the rate of destruction. It’s our job to fight for our world and fight for our future. It is our responsibility to save our planet, and not take it for granted, so that our future generations can have a planet to call home. There is no planet B in our visible future. So let’s fight for what we have and can save now.

Our Founder

Our founder, Linda Blackmoor, left the corporate world to pursue her passions in conservation and founded Caledonia Forest in 2020. Investing over a million dollars in personal funds to kickstart her conservation program and park, she is dedicated to building a community of people that are proactive in fighting to save our planet. Caledonia comes from the old world term for Scotland, a place she frequently visits and loves. Scotland is a prime example, despite its beauty, of the barren lands from massive deforestation. The term, along with “Forest,” is the heart of all that she loves and nurtures. Seeing the efforts they are making to rebuild the forests in Scotland, she brought her love of the country and their missions back to the U.S. to make positive impacts for our country. A mother of two young daughters, she is set on creating an example, not only for her daughters, but for our future children, the importance of fighting to protect the one and only planet we get to call home.

Our First Park Project: Dover, TN

The first park we will be building and opening to the public is in Dover, TN. An hour and a half outside of Nashville and less than 30 minutes away from Clarksville, TN. We picked this beautiful city and community for its abundance in forests, wildlife, and water sources. It’s close enough to the heart of Tennessee and in a prime location to preserve the natural beauty of what Middle Tennessee has to offer. We purchased this land in the knick of time from a logging company that was in the process of tearing down the trees.

We’ve acquired 500 acres in Dover, TN and are currently in the works of building out Tennessee’s Caledonia Forest park.

Our Storefront in Clarksville, TN

One of many to come, our first shop and education center is open in Clarksville, TN. We are using the shopping center we are opening across multiple U.S. cities to generate a unique income for our mission and conservation. Our shops match the serene aesthetic we love in nature and we only carry products that blend well with our mission’s aesthetic.
